Saint Malo

Our last full day in Avranches was nice. In the morning we all sat back and relaxed. Marcel and Monique made another delicious and huge lunch for us. This one included escargots. Josh wasnt feeling the best after a night out on the town so he missed out. Dom and Dillon ate a few of their escargots. Dillon was unable to get past the fact that they were snails. I ate all of mine though :).
In the afternoon we visited the fortified city of Saint Malo. On the way we their we stopped off to see a telegraph signal. It was used to send communications across the country before they had morse code - there are only a few of them in existence. Saint Malo was a lovely city on the edge of the sea. The modern city itself is quite big, but the old town- the fortified one wasnt so big. We were able to walk up on the walls, that surrounded the town.
When we returned home Monique had prepared raclette for us. It was amazing- kind of like a fondue with a grill. You put your veges and meats in little trays then placed a big slab of cheese on top and placed it under the grill. Whilst that was cooking, you placed other foods on top of the grill surface. It was delicious and really filling- a lovely last meal together.
