Upon our arrival at heathrow yesterday, we cleared border control really quickly. Josh and i had the British passports so it went smoothly. Dominique and Dillon were on kiwi passports but came through just as quick. It was great. Customs was a bit of a joke - one security person sitting at a desk, was a bit of a surprise.
My aunty Joan picked us up from the airport and bought us back to her place. Our aunty angie and uncle Tony were also at her place. Aunty Angie was tired as, as she has been volunteering for the olympics here, but was great to see her.
Not long after we arrived Uncle Noby turned up too - with the van he is lending us. Car insurance here is compulsory, but has also been a bit of a nightmare. Not only is it really expensive - cheap was 700 pounds [$1400] and expensive was twice that price. When i tried to arrange it they wouldnt accept my credit cards, as they arent issued in uk- dumb. In the end uncle nobby my fairy godmother came to the resuce lol, and lent me his card to use. So today i finally got that sorted, and we are now able to drive here.
We spent most of yesterday, just chatting and catching up with family. Had lots of hugs and really enjoyed our day. We were shattered by evening though, so i was in bed not long after 6pm. Dominique slept from 3pm, and Dillon from about 4.30pm. Josh was Josh and went to sleep around midnight. Everyone slept well, and by 5am today we were all up and wide awake!
At breakfast time i discovered that marmalade doesnt have gollywogs on it anymore. Instead it has paddington bear. Josh Dillon and DOm have been shining - this morning JOsh vacummed and Dillon and Dom did the dishes - without being asked even!
We made a packed lunch and headed off to Thorpe Park for the day. We grabbed our Merlin premium passes, and had a great time. Josh and Dillon went on almost every ride, and got soaked on one called a Tidal Wave- even though they had ponchos on! Thorpe Park is 3 or 4 times the size of Rainbows End - www.thorpepark.com
We came home from Thorpe Park and JOan had cooked us huge Lasagne- she is really spoiling us. Straight after dinner Dillon went to bed (about 5.30pm). Dom followed shortly after. Maybe tomorrow night they will sleep better :)
I have had a great day, and am looking forward to attending the olympic celebrations in London tomorrow at BT live.
