This morning we went shopping with Pauline just so that we could look at a French supermarche. The stories were correct we saw an entire aisle of cheeses. there were so many different ones. The wine section was the same. Huge and very cheap. You could buy a bottle of wine for just a few Euros. We then went home to Marcel and Moniques. Luch was just as incredible. Rockmelon and a type of bacon/ham. plus other courses, and of course bread cheese and wine! In the afternoon we all headed off to begin our traverse to Mont St Michel. It was a 7km guided tour across the harbour at low tide, to the Mont. We crossed through channels of water, led by our guide and his dog. There was also lots of quicksand, that our guide was able to help us avoid. Along the way we saw big jellyfish just laying on the sand. In our group there was perhaps 30 people. There were aussies and another kiwi amongst us! It took two hours to cross but was awesome. Once at the mount we had half an hour before we had to turn and return to beat the incoming tide. JOsh Dillon and Dom enjoyed their time in the quicksand around the Mont. I didnt return as i wanted to explore the mount and see the Abbey on the top. It was beautiful and well worth the millions of steps we had to climb! Paulines mother Monique also explored with me. In the evening we all went back to Moniques home for a bbq together. Paulines brother Francois also attended with his partner. We all had a lovely evening together. After we returned to Herves after 11pm the younger ones all went drinking together. Another lovely day
